K - 12 Update        NACS: New Amalgamated Chesley School

The NACS School Naming Committee has been meeting this spring to prepare a plan  to consult with members of the public and our area school communities, in order to prepare a recommendation for a school name for the new amalgamated Chesley K - 12 school.  The recommendation will be taken to the Bluewater District School Board trustees in June, so that a final decision will take place by the end of the 2013 school year.

The second phase of School Naming consultation  is taking place right now.  Until May 24, 2013, parents and members of the public can select their top three choices from among a short list of eight selections. The process is quick and easy but with this poll, individuals are only allowed to vote one time.   Those wishing to vote on-line can do so at the following link:   http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3SNVXQ3
Paper submissions are also welcome.  Polling ballots are available, and can be submitted at Paisley Foodland, Chesley Grocery Store and Tara Video and Variety.  Students at Kinghurst Community School, Chesley District High School, Paisley Central, Arran-Tara Elementary School and Sullivan Community School will have the opportunity to submit their polling ballots at each school.

The School Naming Committee, which is comprised of students, parents, teachers, administrators and our area Trustee, will consider the information collected and use it to prepare its final recommendation to BWDSB Trustees in June.  The final decision will be made by BWDSB Trustees in late June.

Name our new school! (updated Wednesday May 15)

As you are probably aware, Kinghurst Community School and Chesley District High School are amalgamating to form a new K-12 school.  The next step in the process of selecting a new name has occurred (submissions have been narrowed down by the naming committee) and now it's back to you, the public, to once again offer your opinion about your top choices.  Go to the survey (at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3SNVXQ3), enter your name and put your top choices in order (the order of the names will adjust as you change your ranking and as you click the N/A button).  This step in the process will be open to the public until May 24, 2013.
